Delivered fully online and self-paced, this course provides an in-depth review of key standards, safety protocols, and inspection requirements, ensuring you remain compliant with current Australian regulations and IECEx/AS/NZS 60079 standards.

Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the following nationally recognised units from the UEE Electrotechnology Training Package:

  • UEEHA0020 Conduct detailed inspection of electrical installations for hazardous areas
  • UEEHA0022 Determine the explosion-protection requirements to meet a specified classified hazardous area
  • UEEHA0023 Develop and manage periodic electrical inspection and maintenance programs for hazardous areas
  • UEEHA0025 Install explosion-protected equipment and associated apparatus and wiring systems
  • UEEHA0026 Maintain equipment associated with hazardous areas
  • UEEHA0029 Plan electrical installations for hazardous areas
  • UEEHA0038 Conduct visual and close inspection of electrical installations for hazardous areas
  • UEECO0002 Maintain documentation
  • UEECD0011 Comply with scheduled and preventative maintenance program processes

Entry Requirements

To enrol, participants must provide evidence of:

  • A current, valid unrestricted electrical licence
  • Prior completion of an EEHA course within the past 5 years
  • If a Statement of Attainment is unavailable, a letter of continuity from an employer may be accepted (demonstrating ongoing work in hazardous areas)

  • Review of Zone classifications (Gas Zones 0–2 / Dust Zones 20–22)
  • Explosion-protection equipment (Ex d, Ex i, Ex p, etc.)
